Tanea Jordan
Owner and founder
Owner and founder Tanea Jordan had a vision of creating a place just like Serenity 808 since she was a teen. The dream has finally come to fruition. She recalls cutting and styling her mom’s hair after she came home from the salon because she was not quite happy with it. That snowballed into cutting and styling her sister’s friends hair, other family members, neighbors, and her own friends. She was the go-to- person for makeup and hair styling for special occasions like prom and other formal events ever since she can remember. Her talents were recognized early on. That feeling of beautifying others and making a difference never left her heart. But, she wouldn’t pursue her passion for cosmetology as a full-time career until a bit later in life. A degree in accounting, a few children, a meth addiction and a failed relationship would come first. She was on a rocky road.
Each bend in the road has created and shaped what Serenity 808 is today. There’s special significance in the salon name too. The Serenity Prayer is big in the recovery community and it is the cornerstone to Tanea’s sobriety. The 808 refers to Tanea’s sobriety date. It was August 2008 when her life changed forever and for the better. Her sobriety has provided her with a sense of serenity. Her husband Chris has been her biggest cheerleader in making her dream become a reality. When you step inside the salon you will feel that serenity too along with the special Tanea trademark (think sass factor) you’ll soon be craving.
