Maggie Rosado
Cosmetologist
When you meet Maggie Rosado, I can guarantee you’ll share a few good belly laughs. Not only that, you’ll be blown away by her talent. But she never expected to be a stylist.
After graduating from high school in Seattle, Washington, she set her sights on becoming an elementary school teacher. While attending college, serendipity intervened when her sister urged her to consider going into cosmetology instead. Maggie didn’t have a lot of interest, but decided to take a tour of a cosmetology school. Something sparked, and within one week, she was enrolled in school. Her sister was beyond happy as she was in the same industry.
What was so surprising to Maggie was that with this profession, she could use much of what she learned in high school math and chemistry classes for this career choice.
As a cosmetologist, she has developed and built strong relationships with her clients. Many of those loyal clients who were once strangers have become friends. Maggie enjoys the creative element that takes place behind the chair. She often is teased by her clients, “You are such a hairapist!” Her clients are comfortable with her and know they can open up to her and there will be no judgement. They’ve become an important part of her life.
Her passion for teaching didn’t dissolve when she left college to pursue a career in cosmetology. In the past few years, she has been an instructor at a local cosmetology school where she teaches others about the craft she enjoys so much.
Maggie lives in Reno and is married and has a son, Santino, age 2 ½ that keeps her busy. She once owned a Pho restaurant with her brother. Little known fact about Maggie: she has trypophobia. Ask her about it, you’ll be fascinated by her response. And who knows, it may turn into a belly laugh.
